One of the best restaurants in York, Melton's can be found in all the good food guides and cooks fresh local produce to order.
Melton's is found in the AA Guide, the 'Which?' Good Food Guide as well as other guides including Harden's, and the Egon Ronay Guide.
We've also been mentioned in the BBC's Olive magazine as having "The Best Home Cooking" in their 'foodie traveler' section, and Will Hide of the Guardian said his beef with dauphinois potatoes "...was done to perfection". Another review was by Mark Palmer for the Daily Telegraph. Melton's was opened in 1990 by Chef Proprietor, Michael Hjort, and his wife Lucy. In 2001 they opened their larger Cafe Bar Bistro, Melton's Too.
